Evaluation

Client - Selling Technology

The subject of this image is the information on the projector.  The reason I took this is because I wanted to sell my projector.  This image focuses on the information which is printed on the projector, it makes you look at the information because it is complying with the rule of thirds.  This image works because the white of the projector contrasts with the black of the background.  The picture could be improved by not having the reflection of the light in the casing of the projector.  Other people do like the image, I know this because I asked my friends and they said that they liked it because it looks artistic.  However some people said that they didn't like it because it shows the screw on the right, they think that I should have edited it out.  This photograph looks good compared to the a professional photo, this is because it shows the specification on the projector in an artistic way.

Concept - Close up

The subject of this image is the information on the cologne.  The reason I took this is because I wanted to show the cologne.  This image focuses on the style of the bottle.  This image makes you look at the bottle because it is complying with the rule of thirds.  This image works because the white of the product contrasts with the black of the background.  The picture could be improved by having the background darker.  Other people do like the image, I know this because I asked my friends and they said that they liked it because the bottle has a nice shape and that is the first things that you see.  However some people said that they didn't like it because the professional image shows the liquid in the bottle.  This photograph looks good compared to a professional image, but I think that I should have put the image in a better position.

Portrait - Close up People

The subject of this image is the people at the wedding.  The reason I took this is because I wanted to have memories of the day.  This image focuses on the bride and the groom on their special day.  This image makes you look at the bride first, then the groom, the the relative, it make you do this because of the way I have made them stand, the human eye automatically looks in the top left hand corner first, I have also arrange them so it goes in height order.  This image works because the bright red of the bouquet dress and tie contrasts with the over exposed background.  The picture could be improved by having a nicer background and adjusting the exposure.  Other people do like the image, I know this because I asked my friends and they said that they liked it because the dress is nice and it the first thing that they noticed.  However some people said that they didn't like it because the people faces and hair are quite hard to see because of the over exposed background.  This photograph looks good compared to the professional picture, but I think that I should have had them stand in the better place, with a nicer background.

Pictures For A Specific Purpose

Client - Selling Technology

I took this image as if I was employed by a business to sell a product.  In this case I was trying to sell a projector.  I took this image on the corner of the projector where it says all of the best features.  I have made it so 'HDMI' and 'DLP 3D READY' is where the eye first looks, the center and on the left.

I took this image as if I was employed by a business to sell a product.  In this case I was trying to sell a projector.  I took this image of the control pad, there is no real reason I took this it was just because I though that it looked good, I have made it so that it complies with the rule of thirds.

I took this image as if I was employed by a business to sell a product.  In this case I was trying to sell a projector.  I took this image so it is using lines and pattern to give perspective to the audience.  I have tried to show the best parts of the product and I have also tried to get the products manufacture in the majority of the pictures.

I took this image as if I was employed by a business to sell a product.  In this case I was trying to sell a projector.  I have taken this image of another camera ready to take a picture of the product, I was going to leave the image in full colour but the colour temperature was orange (CTO) so it didn't look good, so i changed it to black and white (B&W)

Concept - Close up

I took this image so that it was a close up, in this case I have taken the close up of a flour.  When I put this in Photoshop I decided that I would try to highlight the flour because it was in the middle and did not comply with the rule of thirds, so I made everything else black and white, and left the flour in full colour.

I took this image so that it was a close up, in this case I have taken the close up of a light bulb.  This did not go as planned because when I took the photo it was so close I could not take the light shade out of focus.  However the wicker of the light shade has given this image good texture.

I took this image so that it was a close up, in this case I have taken the close up of a light with some smoke in the light.  This does comply with the rule of thirds, because the main focal point of the image (the light bulb) is above the center.
I took this image so that it was a close up, in this case I have taken the close up of a spray.  This is complying with the rule of thirds and i have put this image on a slant so you can see perspective.  slight colours have been used in this image but not so much that your eyes would be automatically drawn to it.

Event - Need A New School

In this image I have tried to make the school look bad, this is almost like trying to sell the school, but instead of trying to make it look good, I had to make it look bad.  In this image I have shown the technology block sign which is smashed, but that I have shown the clear bright blue sky in the background.  I have done this because it gives a good comparison between the clarity of the sky, and the mess of the school sign.

In this image I have tried to make the school look bad, this is almost like trying to sell the school, but instead of trying to make it look good, I had to make it look bad.  In this image i have shown the crack in the wall, i have taken this image so that it complies with the rule of thirds.  The texture in the wall as well as the lines at the bottom of the wall give this image perspective.

In this image I have tried to make the school look bad, this is almost like trying to sell the school, but instead of trying to make it look good, I had to make it look bad.  In this image I have shown a display in the building, the first line of this sign reads fault, this word was the focal point of the image.  The reason i have decided to take a picture of this is because I though that it would make the school seam as if it has many faults.

In this image I have tried to make the school look bad, this is almost like trying to sell the school, but instead of trying to make it look good, I had to make it look bad.  I have taken this image not to make the school look bad, but then when i turned the image black and white it looked like the school was dirty, when i selected the blue to stay in colour you could see all of the rust on the bars and you can see how dirty it is.  This image also complies with the rule of thirds as the center of the image is just the darkens of the floor.

Portrait - Close up People

When taking images of people the photographer must have the people standing in the correct place, you must also make sure that there is a definite foreground and background difference.  In this image I believe I have done this because it is a close up of the people.  This image also complies with the rule of thirds.

When taking images of people the photographer must have the people standing in the correct place, you must also make sure that there is a definite foreground and background difference.  This image shows one person standing in the center, usually this does not work because of the rule of thirds, but in this case it looks good because there is not much information in the background, it is just a plane blue colour.  This is a medium to close up image, I have done this because I though that if i went for a wide angle set up then there would have been lots of unwanted details which the audience does not want to see.
When taking images of people the photographer must have the people standing in the correct place, you must also make sure that there is a definite foreground and background difference.  This image shows three people all wearing quite plane clothes, so I had them stand in front of a colorful background, I also made sure that the background and the foreground was lit with the correct lighting.
When taking images of people the photographer must have the people standing in the correct place, you must also make sure that there is a definite foreground and background difference.  This image shows three people at a wedding.  If I was doing this again i would have them stand in a different place so that it would remove the over exposed background.  This image does however bring out the reds in the image.

Manipulated Image

This is the unedited image, I wanted to edit the image so it looked brighter.

This is the edited image, I was able to make it look brighter by adding the effect Craquelure.

This is the unedited image, I wanted to edit the image so the rust was faded out.

This is the edited image, I was able to fade the rust out, when I did this I saw that the image became virtually unrecognizable.  I was able to do this by adding the effect Chrome from the Sketch option.

This is the unedited image, I wanted to edit the image so that it looked like the sun was coming through the clouds.

This is the edited image, I was able to make it look as if the sun was coming through the clouds by adding a Flare.  On reflection i could have also made the image so that it was slightly brighter.

Wide Angle and Close up

The image above is a wide angle shot, I have tried to make this image so that it complies with the rule of thirds.  In this image I have been able to get all four features (colours, lines, pattern and texture).  The colours are all over the building, The blues and the creams all blend well with the grey of the sky.  The lines in this image show the perspective, these lines are located on the top and the bottom of the fence, this is subtle but it shows a lot.  The patterns on this image are found in the wall, you cannot see them in this size picture, but when it is larger, you can see it much better.

The image above is a close up shot, I thought about making this image so that it complies with the rule of thirds, but when doing a close up, it is very difficult.  In this image I have been able to get all four features (colours, lines, pattern and texture).  The colours are all everywhere on the basket ball, and because it is a close up, you can see the texture very well.  The black and red of the basket ball show that there is a definite line between the foreground, and the background.  There are no lines in this image but in order to show the perspective I have a tight focus on the ball, and i have blurred the background out.  this gives it perspective, without lines.

Adjustment of an Image

This is the original image, I wanted to just keep the orange of the sunset.

This is the edited image, I have edited this so that you can just see the orange of the sunset, but everything else is in black and white.

This is the original image, I wanted to keep just the orange of the eyes in colour, and i wanted everything else to be in black and white.

This is the edited image, I have edited this so that you can just see the orange in the eyes, but everything else is in black and white.
